My Philosophy
TRUST
RESPECTFUL
SAFE
COMFORTABLE RAPPORT
PROFESSIONAL
NON-JUDGEMENTAL
CALM
Seeking therapeutic help can be daunting. Many of us carry on regardless, sometimes ignoring our mental health and remaining adamant that we are fine because we don't want to appear "weak". However, the bravest step anyone can take when they are suffering from mental ill health, whether it's Low Confidence or Self-Esteem, Depression, Anxiety, or another deep rooted problem, is to reach out for help. I know this because, years ago, that's what I did and that's what instigated me to become a Therapist.

I have treated many clients who have been cautious of therapy / counselling either because they don't know what it is or they have felt that previous therapy / counselling has been unsuccessful or unhelpful. Some have been resistant because they have been concerned about sharing things that they might be worried or shameful about or that they might never have told anyone else or that they may feel they would be judged on. All of these fears are usual and many who feel this way can be the most successful on their therapeutic journey. This is because we work in a confidential, non-judgemental way to build TRUST.
TRUST in our relationship and the work we do together.

It's important to remember that, when seeking help and support, not every therapy is appropriate for every client, and not every therapist is the right fit for every individual. It's like buying clothing... try it on and, hopefully, if it fits, it will give you some comfort and make you feel safe, calm, and at ease.
