Psychotherapeutic Counselling
BRAND.png

I offer therapy to individuals, couples, or small groups and work with children, young people, and adults. I cover an integrative approach of Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic approaches, integrated with the Humanistic, and alternative Creative Arts and Play Therapies, should they be requested. Utilising different types of therapy, as appropriate to the client's needs, authorises them to explore an inner world, tender a deeper understanding of self, and afford opportunities for personal awareness, growth, restoration, and self-actualisation.

I employ the core conditions of the Person Centred Approach: Empathy, Unconditional Positive Regard, and Congruence, given that I feel these are central to building the therapeutic alliance and in supporting the client towards therapeutic success. In such a way, I feel the need to be actively present for the client, in order that a positive therapeutic relationship is built between us. Rapport is crucial, as it determines the success of the work, however, this can take time to develop, as trust gradually builds.

Psychotherapeutic Counselling is not just talking therapy, although the client is invited to explore their problems and the therapist actively listens. The psychotherapeutic process is, however, developmental and clients create a 'tool box' of coping strategies throughout their therapeutic journey. As an Integrative Therapist, I support and guide my clients in exploring different self-healing and self-soothing possibilities, to assist in alleviating their symptoms of, for example, anxiety, depression, stress, PTSD, challenging behaviours, addiction and so forth.
